At the top end of the scale, internationally acclaimed restaurants will test the appetite of anyone, whilst for those who wish to enjoy good and affordable meals, there is an excellent choice of family restaurants and auberges of character that can be well within the budget. For wine, a look at the map of the region will reveal a wide choice of wonderful, famous names and wine regions. - Walking and Rambling -

The Lot valley is less busy than the Dordogne Valley further north but it is just as beautiful and spectacular. There is great scenery, lovely and varied footpaths which will lead you to many bastide villages. The region is steeped in history, not only its buildings but also its caves dating back to prehistoric times. You can walk and come across many medieval villages and markets along the way. The Lot valley around this region is built around a limestone plateau cut by deep valleys.
